After Okorocha's arrest, Peter Obi withdraws from Presidential race

The former Governor of Anambara state; and the former running mate of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi has reportedly withdrew his membership with the People's Democratic Party, PDP over tussle for power arising in the party.
    Peter Obi who is gradually winning the heart of Nigerians through his economic policy plan for Nigeria, took to his Facebook page late Wednesday evening to announce his resignation from the People's Democratic Party, PDP and to announce his withdral from the presidential race.
According to an insider who spoke exclusively to Tiz Naija, the former PDP presidential aspirant withdrew his membership from the opposition party due to reasons he would not like to make public, unless his boss permits him to do so. But others are of the opinion that Mr. Peter Obi may be eyeing APC ticket in the forthcoming APC Presidential Primary.

In the letter written by Peter Obi to the People's Democratic Party, PDP, he stated this: 

" I am writing to intimate you of my resignation from the People's Democratic Party, PDP, which was conveyed to the chairman of Agulu ward 2. Ànaocha LGA Anambara, effective Friday, 20 May, 2022. Consequently, I am by this letter informing you of my withdrawal from the PDP Presidential Primaries.it has been a great honor to contribute to the nation- building effort through our party. Unfortunately, recent developments within our party practically make it impossible to continue to continue participating and making such a constructive contributions. Our national challenges are deep-seated and require that we each make profound sacrifices towards rescuing our country. My commitment towards rescuing Nigeria remains firm, even if the route differs.i wish to thank you personally for your graciousness and leadership.i wish you well and the best of luck in the service to the county".
