Exclusive: CAN honors an Islamic cleric who saved the lives of over 200 Christians during an attack from the Muslim youths in Nigeria

An Islamic cleric, Imam Abubakar was honoured by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), for saving the lives of over 200 Christians who ran to his place for safety after they were ambushed by Muslim youths during Jos crisis in 2018.

Imam Abubakar who couldn't stand the impending massacre of over 200 people for their religious beliefs resorted to saving their lives, during the 2018 Jos crisis that claimed the lives of many Christians and Muslims.
Religious crisis was at a time a common occurrence in the northern part of Nigeria which usually results to loss of lives and properties worth millions. 

 Imam Abubakar was honoured by the Christian body (CAN) on the 26th of September 2021 for his selfless and brave move that have saved the lives of over 200 Nigerian Christians, during Barking Ladi crises in Jos Plateau State in 2018.

 Imam Abubakar who graciously accepted the Award and a standing ovation from the massive crowd was praised by the vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and other notable Nigerians who were there at the occasion for his passion and value he has for the lives of the people.

 Boss Mustapha who was also at the occasion was thankful for the life of Imam Abubakar for exibiting such act of kindness, describing him as a rare gem in this generation. The 45th year anniversary of Christian Association of Nigeria was celebrated alongside the 61 years of Nigerian's independence.
 The occasion was described as the best yet in many years, as Daddy Pastor Adeboye, the Supretendent and the Senior pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church worldwide preached at the occasion.
